Eyedrop Recall & Infection Attorneys

Have you or a loved one suffered from a bacterial infection after using natural or medicated eyedrops? Oliver Law Group is currently taking cases pertaining to eyedrop medications that resulted in adverse side effects; nationwide. There are currently three eyedrop brands (Ezricare, Dr. Bernes, and Light Eyez) under review for potentially causing issues such as:

  • vision loss

  • total blindness

  • blurred vision

  • eye pain or eye irritations

  • unusual eye discharge

Ezricare Eyedrop Lawsuit:

Ezricare has withdrawn their artificial tears eyedrops and eye ointment from the market due to risk of bacterial infection, but not before allegations of irreversible damage ensued. Patients who used the medication reported experiencing a bacterial infection with immunity to antibiotics that originated in the eyes before traveling to other organs. The products were created as over the counter medicine intended to relieve dry, itchy eyes. Contact your doctor and Oliver Law Group today to see if you have a case. The bacteria can be detected through blood, urine, or other bodily fluids. Patients who died after use died within 30 days.

Eyedrop Brands Containing MSM:

The FDA recently put out a statement warning consumers not to purchase and to immediately discontinue usage of eyedrops containing MSM. This includes but is not limited to LightEyez MSM Eye Drops and Dr. Berne’s MSM Drops. These solutions have been linked to bacterial contamination, fungal contamination, or both. Both brand’s products are unapproved drugs and illegally marketed in the U.S. because they contain methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) as an active ingredient. Lighteyez has claimed their eyedrops can alter or enhance eye color, while Dr. Berne’s claims that MSM “offers the body a very important trace mineral, Sulfur, which has health-promoting and pain-relieving properties”. However, eyedrops containing MSM have already been linked to 3 deaths, extensive vision loss, and surgical eye removal.

Do you have a case?

The FDA is urging consumers who have experienced any problems to reach out to their health care provider. Adverse reactions or quality problems can also be reported through the agency’s MedWatch program. Litigating complex medical claims on top of managing loss, physical, or emotional damages can be overwhelming. Oliver Law Group has extensive experience in handling medical product liability cases and understands the necessary care that goes into a complex case like such.
